AUTHOR'S DEBUT CHILDREN'S BOOK LAUNCHES THE LITTLE-FRIEND
BRAND

A remarkable new children's book is receiving much praise for
combining excellent and gripping story writing while educating
young readers on the dangers of tropical diseases such as
malaria.

'Friends for Life' is the first book written by author and
mother of six Patricia Clarkson. It centres on the characters
of Triggy, Triza, Zaria and Zida, four girls growing up
together in a small rural African village. The loss of their
families and homes however, meant they only had each other to
rely on, and the events that followed and the experiences the
girls encounter see these friends growing closer together.

'Friends for Life' is an extremely well-written and intense
children's book packed with action, anxiety and plenty of
suspense. Readers are taken on a roller coaster ride through
emotion after emotion. Most importantly the book succeeds in
the difficult task of educating and bringing awareness to the
very real problem of tropical diseases which affect people in
rural areas, and the various methods to protect and prevent
these diseases, particularly malaria.

Malaria is a tropical disease usually carried by infected
mosquitoes and commonly found in areas such as Africa, Central
America, South America, Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
Patricia Clarkson's clever writing allows the story's
characters to teach the reader how easy it is to prevent the
spread of malaria themselves by using protections against
mosquitoes. The captivating story lines also provide a natural
learning tool for the reader.

Following the success of her debut book Patricia Clarkson
already has a number of other books due for publication in the
coming months. Her next in this particular series will be 'The
Fight Against Chickenpox'. She has also launched her own
website, 'Little Friends' (www.little-friend.co.uk) which will
feature all of her books as well as some great children's
toys, greetings cards and baby and children products.

Already selling very well in the run up to Christmas is the
Triggy Character Doll from the 'Friends for Life' story book.
Triggy is a beautifully made doll that every girl will love.
She is dressed in complete African attire, traditional head
wear, earrings and bead necklace and has embroidered facial
details. Standing 11" high the doll also has its own little
backpack. Children can carry the doll on their back via straps
tucked inside the Triggy's backpack and there's even a little
bag in which the child can keep small items when travelling.

The launch of the Little-Friend website and online store mark
an important step for the author whose ambition it is to grow
the brand into a major name in the baby and children's product
market. Many more products will be added to the range and
included in these will be an ingenious Easy Travel Dual
Purpose Baby Bottle which has been invented by Patricia
Clarkson herself. The bottle is unique and its inventor is
keen to forge links with a suitable manufacturing company
within the children's product industry to ensure that mass
production and marketing of this product receives the
attention this product deserves.

As a busy mother of six Patricia Clarkson, has made an
impressive entry into the children's market. She now looks set
to firmly establish Little-Friend as one of the UK's most
innovative and exciting new baby and children's product
brands.
